Masindi Fifteen computers donated by
North Staffs businesses were sent to the Masindi Centre for the
Handicapped (MCH) in March 2004. MCH is one of the very few schools in
Uganda that cater for disabled children. Many of the pupils are
profoundly deaf, and, as such, stand very little chance of ever being
able to work. These machines will
help the pupils to become
computer
literate and greatly improve their
prospects of gainful employment in later life. For their help in this
project, we are extremely grateful to Stourbridge Rotary Club, FOAG,
Masindi Rotary Club and especially to David and Maggie Byensi, without
whom we would not have succeeded.
The following pictures were taken in and around the school:
Kitetikka
Six computers were supplied in December 2004 to the Rock Ministries operating in Kitetikka, just outside Kampala. The computers are now in one room accessible by school teachers from the Kitetikka High School, the Kitetikka Primary School, the Kiti High School, the Kitetikka Rock Ministries and the Rock Ministries Bible College - a community of about one thousand people.
